Strange how 1000's of people found it so great yet there is always one -- see previous negative reviewer to mine -- who has to diss a really great product. With the whole country gradually getting more unfit and obesity levels rising, I'd love to know what this person is doing instead! Fitbug rocks. It actually MAKES you want to move. Cool item, brill website and amazing total support. I was using an ordinary cheap pedometer for ages, which is still a great thing, to get moving, but my fitness & health has come on in leaps & bounds since discovering Fitbug. Yes, it is a tad pricey, BUT CONSIDER this - you are getting a virtual personal trainer (and one who doesn't nag & moan & yell - cos I've been here too!) and sooooo much better & cheaper than a gym. It is extremely motivating. I honestly can't say enough that is good about it. If you really can't afford one straight away, keep using a normal pedo & save up for a bit. Good luck to all you fit buggers out there! - Oops - didn't mean to swear! you know what I mean! x x x x

Fitbug is one of the cleverest websites I've come across. A great gadget mixed with a clever service which has provided me with motivation and results where over the years other solutions just haven't worked.

As a bloke who isn't prone to exercise, Fitbug has encouraged me to meet its weekly targets and after about four months following their advice, meeting my targets and tracking my progress online, I'm feeling fitter and healthier than I ever have.

I've got many of my friends hooked too and we all compete using their Fantasy Footfall leagues! Great!!!

Thanks Fitbug.

A must buy for anybody who needs a helping hand to get off their backside and achieve the results that they want.

I am one of those people who decides to get fit, buys all the kit and is really motivated - for about a week and then something happens to put me off: it's raining, I'm busy at work, I just don't feel like it today. I bought Fitbug hoping it would work but with the knowledge of my past experiences at the back of my mind. I have to say that a month on the motivation is not only still there but I think I have actually made exercise a permanent and enjoyable part of my daily life.
Once your goals have been set you are given a daily step target plus aerobic step target and if you reach them you get a pink day on your personal page. Now I hate it if I don't make pink and I will do what I can to ensure I reach or exceed my targets - that includes walking when I always took the car even for short journeys, making sure I get to the gym 4-5 times a week and actually enjoying it. It also has a page for logging your food intake and that has made me rethink my diet.
I would really recommend Fitbug for anybody of any age and any level of fitness.

Suunto T1C not tough enough, 27 May 2009

I have owned this watch / HRM for 8 months. For one of those months it has been out of use because it needed a fresh battery. After it sustain an accidental knock against the wall (not what I would consider an hard knock) it has now lost it's waterproof protection. The knock caused a crack in the white plastic shell. This crack is spreading across the clear perpex face as time goes by, obscuring the face of the watch. Related to this incident the face suffers from misting up during work-out when sweat vapour gets into the watch making it difficult to read the digits. If you are as old as me (age 45) you will struggle to read the small type-face used in the inscriptions reminding you how to operate it; I need to use close up reading glasses. To be positive it is attractive and comfortable to wear (I am a gent) although I believe Which magazine report the chest strap is not comfortable for some women.

HRM stops working after 50, 6 May 2010

Firstly, the watch is not silver and black as it looks, but actually white plastic and black. This is fine, as it does look retro-cool, but took me aback to start with.

My wife and I were training for two marathons - so needed some reliable kit. I bought the Black Polished T3C for my wife, and after being so impressed with that, I bought this watch for me as I just needed my own HRM and basic stats.

The calories / times / overall stats and last session stats/data are incredible.

My only gripe about this watch (which others have mentioned).

THE HRM STOPS WORKING AFTER 50 MINUTES. EVERY time - it gets to around 49minutes, and then it looses connection and picks up only intermittently which is incredibly frustrating.

The actual watch - when it works - is brilliant, and does get quite a lot of comments as it is a fashion accessory - its just a shame about the HRM.

Difficult to see time on watch in dark room
Stops monitoring HR after about 50 minutes or at about 500 cal!

This is the first time I've been driven to write an entirely negative review, but as there are no reviews at all for this product, I feel I should warn prospective buyers that it is utterly useless!

There seem to be a lot of pedometers on the market, and this is certainly not the cheapest. I was drawn to it because it had the addition of a personal alarm (not expected to be as good as a product intended only for that purpose, but a useful additon I thought) and also - I know, sorry about this - because it was my favourite colours. Not a scientific reason for choosing something that's meant to do a job, I know, but when there are so many that generally look the same and offer the same features, something has to tip the balance in favour of one.

I wanted a pedometer primarily to use when walking and jogging, to measure the distance I've covered, and also felt it was useful that this had a timer and a stopwatch too. I hadn't thought about simply wearing it all day to record how manys steps I take routinely, while working, or shopping or even at home, but that does seem to be a popular reason for buying one. If you want a pedometer for that reason in particular, DON'T BUY THIS ONE!

Whilst I can appreciate that a pedometer works by recording movement, I feel one should be forgiven for assuming it would recognise the movement it's intended to record, when attached as instructed, and not expect it to record ALL movement, as this one does.

Pick it up - that's apparently 3 steps you've taken. Attach it to your waistband or belt - half a dozen more steps. Clear it to zero - unbelievaly another step or two as you let go of the clear button! Bend down to tie your shoe laces - several more steps. You can clock up 20 steps before you've actually moved a leg! Start walking with it though, count your first dozen steps in your head and look down to see if it agrees with you, and you'll be astounded to see it's recorded 5 of them; if you're lucky.

The pedometer does come with an instruction booklet with specific instructions for how it should be carried; I followed them to the letter. It gives you the option of adjusting it to suit your own stride length; I did that (this is simply in order for it to calculate distance travelled, but as it does this by multiplying your stride length by the number of 'steps' it's recorded, this feature too is utterly useless). The instruction booklet tells you there is an adjustment for the sensitivity - just unscrew the minute screw that is almost entirely hidden by the spring clip on the back (if you don't have a tiny watchmaker's cross head screwdriver, get one, you'll need it; take care not to lose the minute screw as it flies out and be ready to catch the batteries that also tumble out as the back is, eventually after much struggling, removed). The adjustment is a tiny "slider" that in fact adjusts in stages, but again you'll need something akin to another tiny, this time flat head, screwdriver to move it, and it will be so stiff that you'll need to apply more and more pressure (feeling it must surely snap) before it suddenly shoots from one end - very sensitive - to the other - not sensitive to any movement at all! With the greatest care and dexterity you may, after several attempts, manage to adjust it one step at a time, then you have to reassemble the whole thing, screw the tiny screw back in, clip it on your belt in the correct place and - find it's no better, or even worse! So go through the whole process again... and again, and again.

I finally got it adjusted so that it didn't record as several steps the release of the clear button, and did record about 75% of my actual steps, but what's the point of a pedometer that is only recording some steps, and still converts some other movements into steps? No use at all.

There is no other word for this but RUBBISH. How can Hama be selling something that so emphatically does not work? Mine's going back to Amazon.

I got this as an upgrade from my old Polar HRM. The only reason for the upgrade was my old Polar did not connect to my computer to save data. I am a member on endomondo and this will update my workouts in about 10 seconds. I was also immpressed with how it automatically updates to the garmin site without me having to do anything. The watch itself is easy to use and comfortable with a nice big display. The downside was the software was not easy to figure out. I found the download on the garmin site for the ANT but could not get it to connect at first, i figured it out after about 1 hour and am happy with the product. I use it to track my calorie count when teaching Zumba classes so did not go for the footpod. On the whole i am very pleased with the HRM and my sister has actually got one too now.

My wife chose this item to replace a heart monitor that she already has. She wanted this one as it appeared to offer more capabilities i.e. distance/speed being the main features she was interested in as well as the others. It does state on the features part of the watch that the heart rate monitor is included and can monitor amongst others distance and speed. However on receiving and using the item once, it would appear that a foot pod is required in order for the distance and speed functions to work - this is not mentioned on the details of the item description and therefore I feel it has been mis-sold as we will now need to buy a foot pod in order for my wife to have the actual functions she really wanted and the reason she chose this item. Not happy about that at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent piece of kit - not just for runners!, 4 Dec 2011

I asked for the FR60 as a present, to assist my training, I mainly work out in a gym environment and I wanted to monitor my heart rate / calorie burn over the gym sessions. And I've not been disappointed! It monitors and records my heartrate/calories great and much more accurately than gym machines and it has made me work harder as you can plan your goals better.

It's a good size, some of the other watches seemed larger/clunky - I personally don't have a problem with the button sizes.
I personally like the colour, before I bought the product I thought it might be too 'lilac' but it looks great on. And much nicer than the all black one.

When I first got it I had a problem getting it to sync with my PC (using the ANT stick), but I think it was due to my operating system - so check your pc spec.

The other issue I had was I was confused on how to get it to show Calories, but you can change the workout screens and customise them completely, its all in the manual. Unsure why Dean J. Marshall says that they cant just monitor heart rate - because you can, and starting a session is simply pressing 'start' and letting it run, and press 'stop' when you want to stop monitoring.

Garmin connect is a fantastic tool - it shows all the detail related to that work out, Like a graph showing how your heart rate changed over the session - which I find useful. You can do 'laps', so you can see the breakdown on garmin connect of how many calories you burned in each lap. Which is useful if you do circuits, or vary between exercises, or even just use a lap for your warm up and cool down.

Overall I am really pleased with the watch, a great starter for those who want to help monitor their training.
